Matthew Bishop
Founder
I have studied an undergraduate and masters degree in Economics, but I have worked in wine for over five years. My love for wine came from a trip to Burgundy when I was 18. I found the differences in flavours from wines produced less than 200m from each other fascinating - of course if there is any place to fall in love with wine, Burgundy would be it!
Since then I want to give people the same experience I felt back then and remove all pretension and snobbery behind wine and enable everyone to see the intriguing history, culture and flavours behind it. I truly believe wine is wonderful and it brings people together, so why not explore all its marvels in beautiful and charming vineyards with your friends and family.

My background is in hospitality. My father was a chef, he owned his restaurant, and he clearly told me many times not to make the same mistake. So, I ended up in the front of house instead, serving guests. I have travelled the world doing so, from Paris to London via Aspen and York, working in the some of the best hotels in the world. I love meeting new people and discovering new places.
Even though I am French and work in wines, I will not pretend to be a 'wine connoisseur'. However, I have been very lucky to taste some great wines and learn a few things from some fantastic people. Now I am hoping to help others discover new places, make new memories, meet some wonderful people and taste some gorgeous wines.
If life is a journey, you might as well pack good wine!
